Welcome to Little Mungster
Hi! My name is Max, the person behind Little Mungster, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Little Mungster came to be in 2018, starting as a small market based business where I sold handmade crochet and macrame items. My business became more about yarn dyeing in 2020, when I got to spend time harvesting natural dye ingredients with my daughter. Then, I only dyed super bulky merino wool. Now, I dye all sorts of yarn bases with Jacquard acid dyes for the best and brightest colour outcomes.
Where the heck did "Mungster" come from? Good question! When I named this business I was still pregnant with my daughter. Though, at the time, we did not know her gender and nicknamed her "little Monster". To make it more "me" I spelt it Mungster, because that is how I pronounced it when I was a child... maybe for longer than I'd like to admit. This was all relevant then as I was planning on making products primarily for babies and kids. It's relevant now because I plan and name my yarn colourways based on mythical creatures and characters from my favourite books and shows. Elise Callisto anyone?
